Limits for fishermen in the south

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture has announced it will be limiting the number of fishermen permitted to 'pot fish' in a southern bay in Port St Mary.

It's a trial closure for four years in a bid to boost the sustainability of lobster and crabs.

Lobster and crab are worth £863,000 a year to the Island's economy and their sustainability is essential to the fishing industry which is worth £13 million a year overall.
