Inflation went down to 4.4 per cent in January.
That's according to the latest Consumer Prices Index figures from the government, and is a 0.8 per cent decrease on the previous month.
Alcoholic drinks and tobacco had the biggest rise compared with 12 months ago, at 11.8 per cent, followed by restaurants and hotels.
The third biggest contributor to the rate of inflation was recreation and culture, which showed a rise of 7.2 per cent.
