The Chair of Ramsey Town Commissioners says independent retail is flourishing there despite problems facing high streets in the UK.
Andy Cowie made the comments whilst visiting a number of businesses in the town during the busy run up to Christmas.
Mr Cowie added the combination of different stores, free parking provisions and easy access to the centre is offering 'great benefits' for visitors, residents and organisations.
Award-winning outlet Pure Inspiration, Ramsey Art Gallery and the Isle of Man Farmers Market were among the businesses to receive a visit from the chair of the authority.
