The Financial Services Authority has issued new guidance about businesses providing registered office addresses.
The regulator says companies offering accommodation address facilities might need to be licensed under certain circumstances.
Arranging premises for a company's registered office would fall under the regulations, and the FSA says it wants to help people understand the rules.
