Bettina Roth, who will relocate from Cayman Islands, will take over from Karen Badgerow whose retired after six years in the role.
Mrs Roth currently works for the Monetary Authority in Cayman- she's a chartered accountant with accreditation in anti-money laundering, conduct risk and project management.
The FSA is responsible for protecting consumers, reducing financial crime and maintaining confidence in the financial services sector.
