'Fantastic to see Ramsey flourishing', chairman says

The Chair of Ramsey Town Commissioners says it's 'fantastic' to see the town 'flourishing' during the run up to Christmas.

Andy Cowie's comments come after he visited new businesses in the town as well as established stores and stalls as the festive season gets into swing.

Mr Cowie says: "The majority of our retail businesses have been coping well throughout the impact of the Covid restrictions due to a combination of hard work, agility and support from all those who have bought local.

"Despite the very difficult year we have all endured, it is fantastic to see Ramsey flourishing, particularly in the busy run up to Christmas and in the face of continued disheartening news from the high street in many areas of the UK."

The local authority is reminding people many retailers in the area will be open on Friday evenings and Sundays in the run up to December 25.
