An office in Onchan could be transformed into a high-tech research and development facility, if planners give the go-ahead.
Taxa Genomics has applied to convert the unit in Village Walk into a molecular biology lab for its workers.
The company, which set up on the Island this year, offers scientific services such as DNA testing for vets.
In its application, it says the lab wouldn't be using dangerous chemicals or pathogens.
