The Treasury Minister says changes to the Island's National Insurance system will help the self-employed.
This week in the House of Keys Alf Cannan faced questions about the changes from Ramsey MHK Lawrie Hooper - it's after the UK said it would increase contributions from self-employed workers.
Mr Cannan says the new system will change the way such contributions are paid on the Island.
But he said he felt it will give a better deal to those who work for themselves:
