Businesses are being reminded not to fall for fraudulent phone calls.
A local company was recently targeted by fraudsters who were trying to sell advertising space in a publication that doesn't exist - claiming it had links to a crime prevention initiative.
The Office of Fair Trading says the business didn't fall for the scam but wants to ensure others don't make the mistake of handing over money.
Businesses which have lost money through a scam are being advised to contact the police.
