Age Concern Isle of Man is bringing together a wide range of government departments, public services, Charities and local organisations for a special event aimed at supporting older people across the Island.
Taking place on Wednesday 4 November, from 10am to 4pm at The Empress Hotel, the event will give older people the opportunity to meet representatives from a range of organisations, ask questions, find out what support is available and make valuable connections — all in one place.
With representatives from public services, health and wellbeing organisations, financial services and specialist support groups, the event aims to make it easier for older people to access information, understand the services available to them and get advice on issues that may affect their everyday lives.
Organisations taking part include the Isle of Man Government's Office of Fair Trading, Isle of Man Fire Safety, Isle of Man Police Community Team, Manx Utilities, the Northern and Southern Wellbeing Groups, Older People's Social Work Team, DHSS, Income Tax Division and Public Health.
They will be joined by local organisations including Kissack Care, Sight Matters, Horizon EMS, the Isle of Man Deaf Society, Barclays Bank, Live at Home, Crossroads, Acorn Stair Lifts, Isle of Man Energy, and the Manx Stroke Foundation.
By bringing these organisations together under one roof, Age Concern Isle of Man hopes to help older people feel better informed, more confident about accessing support and more aware of the services available within their community.
The event will also provide an opportunity for older people to speak directly with representatives, raise concerns, and discover where to turn for help, advice, and practical assistance.
Age Concern Isle of Man is keen to encourage older people to come along, meet the organisations and make the most of this opportunity to find out what support is available to them.
