There are 60 more places for apprentices this year according to the Department of Economic Development.
In the House of Keys yesterday Minister Laurence Skelly was quizzed about his support for schemes.
Mr Skelly said his department supported a wide range of apprenticeships in a number of different industries and sectors.
And he said the number of places available had gone up since last year:
