Those returning to Island to pay for travel & accommodation

Those stranded overseas returning to the Isle of Man must pay for travel and accommodation themselves.

It comes following an annocement by the Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford last week that people will be able to travel back on designated sailings from Wednesday, April 15.

In an update government says a health check will take place before people travel and if they’re not considered fit they won’t be allowed to board the boat.

It’s been revealed travellers will be responsible for their own travel and accommodation in the UK and will also need to pay for their boat back and their  accommodation in the Isle of Man.

The process is done via an application process -small groups of people will be allowed to return on a phased basis, with around 30 to be randomly selected at first.

All people coming back to the Island will have to self-isolate for 14 days and won't be going back to their homes - they will be staying at the Comis hotel in Santon, which will be monitored by security 24 hours a day.

The repatriation form is now available online for people applying to return to the Island:
