'Shops can still enforce social distancing'

Shops on Island can still enforce social distancing rules from next week if they feel it's necessary.

Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford MHK, has clarified the situation saying businesses may wish to keep the guidelines in place from next Monday if they feel it's in the best interests for their staff and customers.

It comes as Chief Minister, Howard Quayle MHK, announced this afternoon that all social distancing restrictions will be lifted from June 15, except for in clinical environments.

Since non-essential retail was allowed to return on May 18, stores have had to implement distancing measures before they re-opened.
