Schools will shut from tomorrow

Schools across the Island will shut from the end of the day tomorrow.

The Manx government has confirmed all local school's will close 'to most pupils from the end of school day' tomorrow. 

However, Dhoon and Ballasalla schools will close from tonight due to staffing pressures.

The Island's Education, Sport and Culture Minister did say he doesn't know how long schools will be shut for amid the Coronavirus pandemic. 

All 5 high schools and 9 primary schools with special education needs support will remain open to provide care for vulnerable children and those who parents are classed as ‘key workers’ critical to the Island’s Covid-19 response.

The nine primary schools which will remain open to provide care for vulnerable children and those with parents classed as 'key workers' are listed below:

 

  • Ballacottier
  • Bunscoill Rhumsaa
  • Henry Bloom Noble
  • Onchan
  • Peel Clothworkers
  • Phurt Le Moirrey
  • St John's
  • Cronk-y-Berry
  • Rushen
