IOM residents to return home from April 15

Manx people stranded abroad will be allowed home on designated sailings, from next week.

Health and Social Care Minister David Ashford confirmed people will be able to travel from Wednesday, April 15 In today's daily press briefing.

Mr Ashford said this is is only if they show no symptoms, and health checks will take place.

All people coming back to the Island will have to self-isolate for 14 days and won't be going back to their homes - they will be provided with secure accommodation.

The accommodation will practice social distancing and visitors will not be allowed.

The Minister also said the repatriation is done via an application process - people can email returningresidents.co@gov.im  for further details.

Lastly, he added the government has been contacted by nearly 200 people in the UK and more further afield who have asked to come home.
