Co-op customer restrictions following abuse

The Co-op will be limiting the number of customers allowed into stores at any one time.

It comes following Area Manager Andy Corrie revealing a small minority of the public have been abusing members of staff and taking to social media to heavily criticise the store.

As a result, from now only 35 people will be allowed into the big Ramsey store and only 6-8 customers in the rest of Co-op shops around the Island - following the 'one in, one out' rule.

If people don't follow the rules, they could be barred from the stores.

The retailer is also urging customers to only buy what they need, keep the number of shopping trips to a minimum and try to avoid paying with cash.
