Car sharing is not being permitted at this time.
That's according to Health and Social Care Minister, David Ashford MHK, when asked about whether people would be able to share vehicles on journeys with people outside their household.
Mr Ashford says taxis are able to operate because they have strict cleaning measures in place which can't be monitored in private vehicles.
Meanwhile, when questioned on when the all-Island 40mph speed limit will next be reviewed, he stated that measure along with all other emergency rules in place are looked at every two weeks.
