Ambulance service launches incident command centre

The Islands ambulance service has set up a new Incident Command Centre to help deal with the Coronavirus pandemic.

The facility is up and running at its headquarters at Cronk Coar so it can manage a surge in demand for its services if required.

The organisation says it's being staffed by senior managers, clinicians and assistants and adds it's proud of its staff and volunteers for their hard work 'in extremely difficult circumstances'.

Personnel there are urgently reminding the public to stick to government guidelines around washing your hands frequently, staying at home and following social distancing rules.
