A free talk: When business solves a problem it makes a profit….that makes the solution grow. The pressing problems of our time are too often left to governments, NGO’s and charities. Some business schools are challenging this expectation by introducing a radical new vision to Management Education. Using ideas from Paulo Freire’s Pedagogy of the Oppressed they politically engage their students in order to create leaders who can critically examine the needs of the world and drive change and sustainability.

Subversive education often reflects a society which feels alienated by leaders who don’t listen to their needs. My research has produced a model which reflects these cycles. Does this growing revolution in business education reflect the global anomie? Is it simply meeting corporate need? And can we predict the influence of these critical educational changes by examining previous cycles?
