Isle of Man Poetry Trail 2020
Every year the Isle of Man Poetry Society organises the Poetry Trail in order to increase our funds as well as publicity.
The 2020 Poetry Trail began in March as a poetry competition. In July 2020 the ten winning poems were chosen from 27 poets who submitted 57 poems altogether. Then “Heads-Up Design” created ten A3 bright yellow posters with each poem on each. These posters will be displayed from Sep 15th to Oct 15th in venues below to form a trail around Douglas. After Sep 15th there will be free trail guides available from Douglas HBN Library and the Family Library. This year two children entered and will each be rewarded each with a poster of their poem to be displayed in the Family Library.
On Saturday 12th September, the Trail will be launched at St Georges Church (opp Bar George) from 7pm. It is a free event and is a celebration of Poetry. The Manx Bard Zoe Cannell will be there reading some poems of hers. Please come along to an entertaining evening.
VENUES: Family Library, Douglas Town Centre Membership (DTCM), Noa Bakehouse, Spill the Beans Café, HBN Library, Waterstones, WHSmith, Studio1, Villa Marina foyer and Eurocycles.
