he morning of the 2023 TT Peel Day, Monday 5th June, will offer an exclusive opportunity to meet the artist of the ‘Thirty Seven and Three Quarters’ exhibition, Rachael Clegg. Journalist and visual artist Rachael has motorsport and the TT in her DNA;
“The Isle of Man TT has been incredibly close to my heart since childhood,” Clegg said. “It began when I would watch my father competing in the races, in complete awe of him, and I’ve been addicted to the island and its racing ever since.”
Clegg said, “My grandparents also lived there, and my uncle made leathers for the likes of Robert and Joey Dunlop, so there’s a sort of umbilical cord that connects me to the TT and the Isle of Man.”
The exhibition celebrates the history of the Isle of Man TT through a series of strikingly unusual monochrome photographs, each interpreting and illustrating an event in the TT’s history. Rachael will be bringing her exhibition to life through a series of short tours of the gallery followed by signing sessions at 10am, 11am and midday.
Naturally witty and with a wealth of TT insights and stories, this Meet the Artist experience is guaranteed to entertain!
