PRESS RELEASE
The Isle of Man Family History Society is excited to bring together most of our Manx heritage organisations in an event we are calling ‘Isle of Man History Day’. Held in the iMuseum building at Kingswood Grove, Douglas, this free event is open to the public and is an opportunity to look around their library facility and meet representatives from vibrant local groups. Each organisation will have a display to showcase their interests, leaflets and publications. Second hand Manx books will be on sale.
All island charities such as Manx National Heritage, Friends of MNH, IOM Natural History and Antiquarian Society and Culture Vannin will be taking part as well as heritage groups from Peel, Rushen, Castletown, Onchan, Ballaugh, Michael, Lonan and Laxey
Secretary of the Family History Society, Sarah Christian said: ‘we live on such an interesting Island and it’s amazing to think of the range and diversity of the events, research and publications produced by keen volunteers and organisations. We see this as an opportunity to get together with fellow history fans and let the Manx public know what we are all up to’.

Free refreshments are available, and the event is open 10am-4pm on Saturday 21 May 2022
