Manhunt after woman raped in Luss car park on banks of Loch Lomond

A manhunt has been launched following the rape of a woman within Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park.

Police Scotland said it received a report about 1am on Saturday that a 32-year-old woman had been seriously sexually assaulted within Luss public car park.

The male suspect has been described as white, with blonde hair, and spoke with a Scottish accent.

Detective Inspector Julie Clisby said: "Extensive enquiries are ongoing and we are doing everything we can to trace the man responsible."

The force said it was alerted around 1am on Saturday.

Investigating officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the vicinity between 11.45pm on Friday 26 September and 12.30am on Saturday 27 September.

Those with relevant dashcam or private CCTV footage are also being urged to come forward.

DI Clisby added: "In particular, we would ask that a group of people who spoke to the victim after the incident contact officers as a matter of urgency, as they may have information that could prove vital.

"It may seem insignificant to you, but could be pivotal in our investigation."
