Three people were taken to hospital, and two were treated at the scene, after Saturday's incident near Marks and Spencer in Ealing Broadway.

The Metropolitan Police said Timir Ahmed Mohamed, 34, of Grange Park, Ealing, has also been charged with criminal damage, dangerous driving, failing to stop, failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Willesden Magistrates' Court on Monday.

The force said officers were called to Ealing Broadway at 2.29pm on Saturday to a report of a car colliding with multiple pedestrians.

"A total of five pedestrians were injured. Two were treated at the scene and three were taken to hospital where their injuries were found to be non-life-threatening and non-life-changing," police said in a statement.
