A woman will spend a year on probation after stealing from a shop in Douglas she was already banned from.
Christine Ann Metaxas of Waverley Terrace in Ramsey appeared before magistrates at Douglas Courthouse.
The 51 year old admitted stealing £25.99 worth of goods from Boots on Strand Street on April 12.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the court she was spotted by staff taking hand cream, face scrub and hair clips - when police went to her home she admitted the theft and said she’d taken the items because she needed them.
The court heard she had a long record of shoplifting and was banned from entering Boots.
Magistrates said she obviously needed help, and placed her on probation for 12 months as well as ordering her to pay £50 costs and £25.99 compensation.
