A 19 year old woman has admitted starting a fire in a block of flats which saw residents - including a 10 year old girl - forced to evacuate the building.
Lisa Nicola Mcghee of Ashbourne Avenue in Douglas pleaded guilty to arson when she appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing a resident living above Mcghee discovered the fire and raised the alarm at around 8pm on May 26.
When Mcghee appeared in a lane behind the building, she denied being involved but was arrested when firefighters discovered the blaze was deliberate.
She’s also awaiting sentence after being found guilty of making nuisance phone calls to the emergency services.
Mrs Hughes bailed her in the sum of £500 and she’ll appear in court again on October 1.
