A Douglas woman’s appeared in court, accused of stealing £5,000 from the family of her ex-boyfriend to fund an online shopping spree.
Lisamarie Bashforth of Clarke Street appeared before magistrates via a live video link from police headquarters.
She’s yet to enter any pleas to a number of charges including theft.
Prosecutor Rebecca Cubbon told the hearing the couple split up some years ago but in 2015 and 2016 her former partner and his two daughters noticed money had been spent without their authorisation.
The court also heard authorities traced more than 450 purchases from Amazon to Miss Bashforth.
Magistrates bailed her in the sum of £500 on condition she doesn’t contact witnesses in the case, and she’ll next appear in court on June 3.
