Ronaldsway Met Office has issued an amber weather warning this morning - with waves expected to break over exposed roads.
The warning covers high tide today from 9.45am to 11.45am.
Forecasters say south or southwesterly winds approaching gale force may drive waves and overtopping.
Areas likely to be affected today include Fenella beach in Peel, Bay ny Carrickey, Castletown Promenade, the Northern end of Douglas Promenade and Laxey.
