The Office of Fair Trading is warning of a potential fault with a tumble dryer which could affect the public.
It’s issued a safety notice from Beko which has noted a problem with 6kg and 7kg condenser machines which were manufactured between May and October this year.
In a small number of cases an electrical component has failed and the machines have overheated – with the potential for them to catch fire.
If you have one of these machines you will be offered a free in-home modification – until then you’re asked to stop using the dryer immediately and disconnect it.
You can contact Beko on the free phone number 0800 917 2018 between 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 10am to 4pm Saturday and Sunday.
