A Rushen MHK says the voice of the people has gone unheard following an overwhelming vote of support for the Southern Area Plan
All three MHK’s for the area - Phil Gawne, Laurence Skelly and Juan Watterson - had all voiced their opposition to the plan which will now see land at Ballakilley used for a housing development.
The man who owned it, Mr Clucas, had left it for recreation, not development.
Mr Gawne has branded it a victory for developers and planning inspectors:
