The Family Library on Westmoreland Road in Douglas had been facing closure in August this year, however an increase in backing from the Scheinberg family to £250,000 will cover the costs of running the library's services for another year.
Chairman of the Family Library, Kurt Roosen, is thanking the Scheinberg family - which has supported the facility since 2012 - for the emergency aid to keep the space alive.
Mr Roosen adds not only will it mean they can provide services for another 12 months, but believes it recognises the 'absolutely fundamental' opportunities the complex can offer residents.
