The Island led the way on giving the vote to 16 and17 year olds in 2006, with 900 teens eligible to vote come September 29th.
In an effort to encourage young people to exercise their right to vote in September a video has been produced by first year media students at the Isle of Man College.
Operating under the title ‘What’s the Point’ the video features young people holding up thought provoking signs, highlighting issues geared toward motivating youngsters.
The younger people are an important demographic who it’s been identified are on the whole not making use of their voting privileges.

The video will be shown on electronic notice boards at the five secondary schools and at the College in the weeks leading up to the poll.
The deadline to register to vote is 8th September.
