New measures could be introduced to the Gas Safety Order 2021, subject to Tynwald approval.
The Order could adopt UK legislation relating to gas safety, such as gas leaks and pressure, and regulation of the installation and use of gas fittings.
The measure has been proposed as the current Gas Safety Regulations are designed for a type of gas that no longer exists on the Island, and hasn't done since 2012.
Tynwald is set to discuss the Order on Tuesday.
