Tynwald's rejected the government's controversial area plan for the North and West in a vote yesterday evening.
Several MHKs criticised it during a lengthy debate in the court on Wednesday, October 22.
MHKs narrowly voted in favour of the plan, with thirteen members voting for and eleven against.
However it was rejected by a majority in the Legislative Council, with only one of seven MLCs voting in support of the policy.
