The Isle of Man will hold a two-minute silence on bank holiday Friday this week (May 8) at 11am to commemorate the 75th anniversary of VE Day.
It's set to remember the immense sacrifices made by those on the battlefield and at home which led to victory over the Nazi forces in Europe in 1945.
A ceremony will be held to mark the occasion but changes have been made to it to maintain social distancing in light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief Minister, Howard Quayle MHK, will deliver a statement on the day and a bugler and piper will play 'The Last Post', 'Battle's O'er' and 'VE Day 75' from the summit of Snaefell - the public are asked not to attend Snaefell to avoid large gatherings.
