Two major regulators to merge

Two of the Island's biggest regulators are to merge.

The Insurance and Pensions Authority and the Financial Supervision Commission have been asked to prepare a plan for achieving the merger.

It's expected to happen next year.

Treasury Minister Eddie Teare says there are positives that will come from the merger:
