Two public bodies will lose the right to spy on people if proposals are approved by Tynwald this month.
The Department of Home Affairs will remove the Isle of Man Post Office and the Road Transport Licensing Committee from the list of surveillance authorities.
It's after the Surveillance Commissioner criticised the number of bodies allowed to carry out surveillance in his annual report last year.
Brendan O'Friel said he was concerned how many seldom do so - leading the department to look again at its list.
