TV Star Professor Brian Cox coming to the Island

Wonders of the Universe host will give presentation to students and be a guest of honour on Tynwald Day

Professor Brian Cox, the man responsible for making Science cool over the past two years has been confirmed as a guest of honour at this years Tynwald ceremony.

Whilst on the Island the BBC presenter of Wonders of the Universe will also be giving a presentation and hosting a q&a session for students in the Villa Marina’s Royal Hall.

Members of the NASA team who crewed the historic final mission of the space shuttle Discovery will join Professor Cox on stage.

Cox has risen to notoriety given his ability to simplify complex theories and explain them in a captivating manner helping bring science to a wider and younger audience.

The Department of Education and Children is keen to ensure that any secondary school students with an interest in space and science who have already finished their academic year (those in Years 11 and 13) have the opportunity to attend the event at the Villa Marina.
