A trench that was dug to make way for a new gas pipeline in
the North of the Island has revealed major insights into what the landscape
looked like 2000 years ago.
Through examining a section of the trench the team from the
Centre for Manx Studies were able to identify silt deposits, which once formed
a vast wetland stretching from Ballaugh Cronk to Ramsey.
