A £200 million windfall will now be given to departments to spend as they see fit, and it’s thought the money injection will solve budgeting problems in Manx Care for at least another six weeks.
The ticket, bought as part of Treasury's reserves investment management strategy, won top prize during the draw on Friday evening.
Crates of champagne were spotted arriving at Government Offices in Douglas on Monday morning as senior ministers celebrated their luck.
A lottery spokesperson said the winner had asked to remain anonymous but quoted them as saying they wouldn’t give up work.
