The Manx Electric Railway Society says the government of has keep quiet over previous incidents on the Snaefell Mountain Railway.
The society submitted two Freedom of Information requests asking for details of safety related incidents on the railways dating back to 2011.
But the MERS says no mention was made of an incident in 2014 - which later featured in an online review.
On Tripadvisor, a passenger claimed they'd been on a tram which rolled backwards down the track out of control, which the society claims was unrecorded or ignored by management.
