An Island trade union body says the government's latest population report is an indictment of Treasury and Chief Minister Alf Cannan.
The Trades Union Council took to Facebook after the 2025 Population Report showed 41 per cent of those leaving the Island last year was aged between 20 and 34.
It says young people cannot afford to stay here and cannot see a future on the Island.
And in its post, it calls on the government to persuade young people to stay by providing wages, homes, skills, and careers.
