Topshop has confirmed to 3FM that it is no longer interested in the vacant Woolworth\'s site in Strand Street.
Their interest in the store had previously been confirmed to 3FM by their press office, it would seem however this is no longer the case.
The site has lay dormant now for nearly 3 years, and in that time Topshop were the biggest name linked to the site.
In a brief statement the popular clothes chain have now confirmed that they have no plans on opening up a new store on the Island, however it's something they wouldn't rule out in the future.
No reason has been given for the turnaround, however it comes in a week when it was announced the clothing giant are having to shut 260 stores across the UK.
