After two years of lying dormant the former Woolworths Store will reopen its doors to the public later this year.
Topshop’s head office has become the first chain to confirm the date that they’ll be moving into the vacant property on Strand Street.
Press Officer Liz Shuttleworth told 3FM: Topshop is moving from its current site into the vacant Woolworths store, increasing its floor space significantly, the move is due to take place in early September.
Last year plans were unveiled for a superstore in the property, housing at least three major high street chains.
We spoke to representatives of the two stores who confirmed they too would be moving, Miss Selfridges and Sports Direct, they said they're yet to finalise a date however.
The major development was supposed to be completed and ready for opening last Summer, but clearly there have been significant delays.
The Woolworths store has been vacant since the company folded in early 2009.
