Manx Telecom has applied for planning permission to put up telegraph poles at three streets in Ramsey to provide fibre broadband.
In three planning applications, the company says it needs poles in Marlborough Crescent, Riverbank Road and Thornhill Park.
MT says it lays underground fibre cables where it can, but there's no ducting to the three locations and so it needs the poles.
In total, it's asking for 12 nine-metre poles to carry the fibreoptic and says it's written to residents in the areas affected.
