A teenager's 'wreckless' behaviour has landed him with a £750 fine after he ripped down fencing whilst drunk.
19-year-old Owen Edwin Plaskett, of Hilltop Rise in Douglas, damaged the garden furniture at two properties in Farmhill Meadows on December 27th.
Police were called to the area at 12.15am after reports of a man shouting in the street - his girlfriend who was at the scene confirmed Plaskett was the perpetrator.
Plaskett's actions caused almost £2,800 worth of damage - he later pleaded guilty to two counts of causing damage to property.
At Douglas Courthouse this week Plaskett's advocate said the incident had been sparked by an argument with his girlfriend with who he was in a "tempestuous" relationship with.
He said due to Plaskett being the victim of a stabbing in 2014 he has since been left "on his guard" adding he'd reacted the wrong way.
The court was told insurers had paid out for the fencing but the owners had been left to pay a £100 excess each.
Addressing the unemployed teen Magistrates told him "this type of behaviour is totally unacceptable and won't be tolerated".
They also ordered him to pay £200 in compensation plus costs of £125 - he was also banned from entering licensed premises for 12 months.
