Neil Clarke of Church Road Marina in Douglas appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes at Douglas Courthouse.
He admitted a single count of threatening behaviour on Regent Street on February 14.
Prosecutor Hazel Carroon told the hearing the 18 year old and another man attacked their victim shortly before 3.30pm, pushing him to the ground and subjecting him to a flurry of punches and kicks.
When members of the public intervened, Clarke ran off but was later arrested.
After hearing his latest conviction put him in breach of a suspended jail sentence, Mrs Hughes asked for probation reports to be prepared before he’s sentenced on June 28.
She granted bail in the sum of £500.
