Technical hitch reduced patrols by fisheries boat

The Department of Environment, Food and Agriculture says its fisheries protection boat operated reduced patrols for almost two months this year because of a technical fault.

A Freedom of Information request asked for details about problems with the FPV Barrule.

In its response, the department said there had been one occasion since last April when the vessel operated with reduced hours.

The engine and exhaust fume issue had led to restrictions on the boat's operation in March and April this year.
