Big Fines Incurred If You Don\'t Get Your Return in Today
This afternoon is the deadline for your tax returns with a hefty penalty coming for all those who have failed to submit in time.
The fine has shot up from £50 to £100 for a late submission; the increase comes in an effort to encourage people to ensure they’re not get them in before the deadline.
If the return remains outstanding by April 6, 2011, a further £200 penalty will be charged.
Even if the penalties are paid, the tax return must still be submitted, with those failing to do so liable to prosecution.
