A spokesman for Tesco says they are unaware of a large spider loose in the store.
In a post to a local Facebook group, Simon Challoner claimed his cousin Tara's spider was missing, and she suspected it had escaped in Tesco.
Simon claimed management were notified but a spokesman says they haven't been told.
Simon says three year old "Doris" is probably more frightened of shoppers than they are of her!
